MasterRap i4 v.s. MakerBot Replcator 2

The Direct Comparison Between MasterRap i4 and MakerBot Replicator 2.

--MasterRap is developed by maker for makers

"IMasterRap 3D printer is really a quantum leap in the 3D printer market and is #1 when compare at the performance over cost of ownership"
-- Don M., Ontario

This video provides a unbiased direct comparison of performance on overhang capability between MakerBot Replicator 2, Ultimaker 2+, and MasterRap i4e in The uOttawa Richard L'Abbé Makerspace. The result is out. It has been proven in this video that, Ultimaker is the leader in the 3D printer race that doing much better than Makebot. However, MasterRap i4e outperformed Ulitmaker 2+ and won the overhang capability challenge with proven ability to print over 85 deg overhang, and finished 5mm 90 deg overhang in good shape! MasterRap i4e is the winner in overhang performance print quality over Ultimaker 2+.

Print one at a time in a batch printing

Print one at a time batch printing (print many smaller 3D print one by one in a batch)  is easy in MasterRap (as shown above)

MasterRap can do both Print-one-at-a-time or print-all-at-once in a batch printing. This Print-one-at-a-time batch printing allowe to save time and yield in higher quality.

On the other hand,  MakerBot can NOT perform print-one-at-a-time in a batch printing, due to its print head gantry height is only a few millimeters to the smooth axis. And this drawback make it only able to print-all-at-once in a batch but not Print-one-at-a-time.

Makerbot have the heavy extruder motor hanging on the moving print head, which in creases the mass of motion. According to the Newton's 1st and 2nd Laws of motion, the same pulling foce on bigger mass make it more difficut to accelerate or decelerate, and resuts in much slower printing head positioning speed than MasterRap. MasterRap, on the other hand was designed with every efforts to reduce the total mass of moving print head and yield ability to print at double (2X) speed than MakerBot.

o

Verdict:
MasterRap is made for Professional makers

If you are in the market opt for 3D priner wtih professional performance in speed, and professional fine quality with #1 top ratio in performace over cost of ownership, and the output quality is more important than the look of the 3D printer itself, then you should better opt for choosing a MasterRap.

However,if a nice square box of a 3D priner is more important than the printed output results quality for you , and slower speed is OK with you, and you have thousands of  $$$USD at your deposal, then you probably should chose a MakerBot.
